Editing and writing for award-winning online magazine OhioAuthority.com. During its tenure, OhioAuthority caught the attention of longtime journalists, the local business community, prominent cultural institutions and the Cleveland Press Club, which honored the online magazine with a first place award for Imaging in 2011, for the video series “Live from Bad Racket.” Responsibilities included editing for style and accuracy, writing columns, essays and articles, photography and site maintenance through OhioAuthority‘s custom-designed content management system.

Responsibilities as editor-in-chief include determining direction and editorial vision of Northern Ohio Live, a monthly regional arts, culture and lifestyle magazine. Recruit and manage freelance talent and interns; ensure consistency of editorial content and quality; work with publisher to grow magazine revenue, subscription base and newsstand sales; manage day-to-day operations of the editorial department. Upon promotion to editor in September 2005, hired three new editors and ensured seamless transition during major staff changes. Was charged with reducing freelance spending, resulting in a spending decrease of more than 1/3 of the entire freelance budget during first year as editor. Reduced spending each year, while maintaining editorial quality. Coordinated Awards of Achievement and Rainmaker Award programs each year. Researched qualified candidates and evaluated merit, solicited the input of community leaders and other knowledgeable parties, maintained spreadsheets to track progress of notifications.
